LOCAL ICT (information and communications technology) company ICT Expertz Limited is in the Champion of National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) 2016.
The company will be joining a growing global effort among businesses, government agencies, colleges and universities, associations, nonprofit organisations and individuals to promote online safety awareness.
Recognized every October, NCSAM was created as a collaborative effort between government and industry to ensure all digital citizens have the resources needed to stay safer and more secure online while also protecting their personal information.
As an official Champion, ICT Expertz Limited recognizes its commitment to cybersecurity, online safety and privacy.
“With over 80 percent of Trinidad and Tobago’s population online, it was imperative that ICT Expertz champion the National Cyber Security Awareness Month initiative locally, as we continue to do our part in keeping TnT Cyber-safe,” said Pundit Shiva J Maharaj, chief operations officer of ICT Expertz Limited.
Coordinated and led by the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), NCSAM has grown exponentially since its inception, reaching consumers, small and medium sized businesses, corporations, educational institutions and young people across the nation and internationally.
Kicking off NCSAM’s 13th year, this October presents a new opportunity for Trinidad and Tobago to expand cybersecurity and privacy education and awareness as we join our global counterparts.
“The Champion program is a vital part of National Cyber Security Awareness Month’s ongoing success.” said Michael Kaiser, executive director of the National Cyber Security Alliance.
“We are thankful to our 2016 Champion organizations for their support and commitment to our shared responsibility of promoting cybersecurity and online safety awareness.” As part of ICT Expertz’ NCSAM efforts, they will launch a five week long traditional and digital media cybersecurity and online safety awareness campaign, commencing September 26, 2016 and continuing until the end of October.
Over the entire campaign tips and other important information and resources to keep both home and businesses end-users safe online will be published daily and weekly on ICT Expertz Social Media “ITinTT” Networks (Blog, Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and YouTube), as well as in other traditional media (Television and Newspapers) through our campaign partners.
